| QUALIFICATIONS BSc (Hons) Human Psychology, University of Aston CAREER PROFILE AND ACHIEVEMENTS Joined International Computers Limited as a graduate trainee and during the period l978 to l983 undertook various personnel roles, gaining broad experience in all aspects of HRM. Appointed personnel manager in l983 with responsibility for organisation and manpower planning, training and development, recruitment, industrial relations, job evaluation and remuneration, health and safety, and employee services. After a period with Golden West Foods in a similar capacity, joined ABB Simcon Limited as director of human resources and quality. In this high technology company, developed the managerial competency of the organisation to meet present and future needs and introduced TQM in UK and USA subsidiary companies. Currently a free-lance consultant, working in association with Allied Strategies, Ltd. WORK PROFILE HRM professional with broad experience in manufacturing and services industry sectors. Within ICL, led harmonisation programmes, introduced TQM and a formal process for organisation and management reviews. Planned and implemented a series of restructuring/manpower reductions to meet changing needs of a business and facilitated two way communications within the organisation. Instigated a process of weekly team briefings, providing initial communication skills training for supervisors and middle management in providing performance feedback to the workforce, upwards communication from the shop floor and downwards communication undertaken through the line management chain of command. Acted as process consultant to a team of senior managers in a major plc, reviewing their industrial relations strategy, developing a new strategy and action plan enabling the organisation to move from central bargaining to decentralised bargaining, at the business unit level. Undertook a review of the compensation systems of the top l80 managers and directors in an organisation with 16,000 employees, involving analysis of present systems, structured interviews with key managers and investigation of comparative market position, leading to recommendations for the introduction of a new performance management and appraisal system, job evaluation procedures and new salary structure incorporating performance related pay.
